This is the third time that Dentaid has visited Zimbabwe to provide oral health advice and dental care for people living in remote communities. Working alongside local dental professionals, the team will visit schools, an orphanage, a prison, an HIV clinic and community centres in the region of Chinhoyi. The volunteering trip will end with two days at the Victoria Falls.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills in a country where they will make a huge difference," said overseas projects manager for Dentaid, Jacqueline James. "As with many of the countries we visit, healthcare services have been affected by political upheaval but now is a good time to reach people who really need dental care. The team will be accompanied by our wonderful Zimbabwean trip leader throughout the trip and everyone can be assured of an incredible welcome everywhere they go."
Dentists, dental nurses, hygienists and therapists are all invited to apply for the two week volunteering trip. Volunteers are asked to raise £2,250 to cover the cost of their flights, accommodation, food, travel around Zimbabwe and to support the charity's ongoing work in Zimbabwe. Dentaid can give fundraising advice and support as you prepare for your trip.
