The south Wiltshire village of Tisbury is known by locals as a hidden gem, but now the secret is out.

Home to the picturesque offices of leading dental plan provider DPAS, it was no surprise to those who live and work there that Tisbury was recently named the second best place to live in the countryside by ‘The Times’ newspaper.

Set in the sweeping landscape of the Nadder Valley with many of the older thatched houses built from local Chilmark stone, Tisbury is proud of its thriving and vibrant community and traditional High Street of small independent shops and businesses.

Described by The Times as “less than two hours direct to London by train … it boasts a fine range of gastro pubs, coffee shops and delis”, features that placed Tisbury second only to Maldon in Essex. Tisbury is also steeped in history and Fonthill Estate’s Place Farm, where DPAS’ offices are located, is home to one of the largest tithe barns still in existence in the UK.

DPAS is proud to be one of Tisbury’s biggest employers and commercial director, Dean Hallows, acknowledges they are fortunate to work in such beautiful surroundings: “DPAS has had the pleasure of being part of the community of Tisbury since 2005 and we are delighted that it has been recognised in this way. It is testament not only to energetic local businesses, but is also a great example of a diverse and flourishing community”.
