Rino Burkhardt is a world-renowned clinician who runs a private dental clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, limited to periodontology and implantology. He will speak at the ADI Masterclass – in collaboration with the Osteology Foundation – on November 23, 2024, at the Savoy Place, London.
His session is entitled, ‘Impact of suturing techniques in soft tissue healing’.
Rino said, “There is no question that suturing is one of the key elements in each periodontal and implant surgical procedure. Among other factors, it defines flap stability and the integrity of the wound during healing.
“After describing the ideal materials and instruments involved, as well as some techniques, the presentation will focus on the interfaces that are of utmost importance for successful wound closure. These include the one between the surgeon’s hand and the instrument (human factors) and the one between the working end of the instrument and the soft tissues (biomechanics). Additionally, some of the non-technical skills essential for suturing and which underpin technical proficiency will be discussed.
“Delegates will be confronted with the pieces of the puzzle which remain after deconstructing the suturing workflow, learning which are the most important and how they can influence outcomes.
“The ADI Masterclass is not only about the exchange of theoretical knowledge, but also about bringing each individual participant from one expert level to the next one. I would encourage colleagues to attend.”
