The Wrigley Oral Healthcare Programme (WOHP) invites dental students, professionals and academics in the UK/Ireland to apply for the 2014 IADR Wrigley Salivary Research Award. This prestigious award is recognised worldwide as a stamp of excellence in outstanding salivary research, which makes a valued contribution to the body of clinical research supporting the important role that saliva plays in oral care.
The WOHP is dedicated to supporting the dental profession in its mission to improve patient’s oral health, and through sponsoring this global award, it hopes that more students, professionals and academics with fantastic research behind them are able to benefit from both the financial reward, and global platform offered to successful candidates through this process.
UK progamme manager Louisa Rowntree is delighted that WOHP are continuing their involvement with this prestigious award:
“As a show of our continued commitment and support of independent research into the saliva and the benefits of chewing gum, we are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to dental professionals, academics and students in the UK/Ireland, and wish them the best of luck!”
For the fifth consecutive year, WOHP, in partnership with the IADR Salivary Research Group, will be granting three awards. The awards given will be: one Clinical Salivary Research Award for dental scientists ($1,500), one Clinical Salivary Research Award for dental students ($1,500), and one Basic Salivary Research Award ($2,000). These awards are intended to assist with travel costs to attend the IADR 92nd General Session & Exhibition in Cape Town, South Africa, June 25-28, 2014.
“We are glad to continue to partner with WOHP to recognise students and clinicians for their innovative research” said Walter Siqueira, president of the IADR Salivary Research Group. “It’s important that we continue to encourage students and clinicians to explore salivary-related research to help make advancements in oral care.”
