The next IDS will not be opening its doors until 2015 but already now preparations are getting underway for the 36th International Dental Show which will take place from March 10-14, 2015 in Cologne. By sending out the registration documents in mid-January the GFDI Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Verband der Deutschen Dental-Industrie e.V. (VDDI) (Association of German Dental Manufacturers) and Koelnmesse have given the go-ahead for the next edition of the world's largest trade fair for dental medicine and dental technology. Even though the fair is still a long time off, numerous inquiries from businesses about stand areas have already reached the Koelnmesse.
As a result of these positive signs, the organisers are also expecting a large amount of interest from the entire dental world in the IDS 2015, similar to the record results of the IDS 2013. With 2,058 suppliers from 56 countries and a foreign proportion of 68 per cent as well as more than 125,000 trade visitors from 149 countries (48 per cent), the event in March 2013 was able to set new record highs in all exhibition figures. "According to a representative survey, about 90 percent of the exhibitors from IDS 2013 are planning to participate in the IDS 2015," says. Martin Rickert, chairman of the VDDI. "This shows that the IDS is indispensable for those who want to be successful in the dental industry." Katharina C. Hamma, chief operating officer of the Koelnmesse adds: "The IDS is the world's leading trade fair for the dental industry and offers the perfect conditions for information, communication and global commerce. As in the past, we support exhibitors and trade visitors with a wide variety of services and service offerings for a successful trade fair participation. "
As previously, the International Dental Show will occupy an exhibition area of 150,000 square metres. After the record year of 2013 organisers expect more than 2,000 exhibitors at the International Dental Show. And Koelnmesse and GFDI again not only expect a lot of interest from German suppliers, but also a strong international presence. Even now many inquiries from potential new exhibitors are coming in from abroad. In addition, more than a dozen foreign group participations are expected.
The first day of the trade fair (March 10, 2015) will again be dominated by "Dealer's Day", a day that will focus on dental dealers and importers and will provide all interested parties an opportunity to attend the sales talks at the exhibitors' stands.
Top marks from exhibitors and visitors for the IDS 2013
The undisputed positioning of the IDS as a world-leading international trade fair for the dental industry has also been impressively confirmed by the results of an independent exhibitor and visitor survey on the IDS 2013. The event brought together in Cologne decision makers from around the world from the dental profession, the dental laboratories, the specialist dental trade and the dental industry. This was a cause of great satisfaction among the IDS exhibitors. 97 per cent of German suppliers reached their key customers from the domestic market and 83 per cent their key accounts from abroad. Of the foreign exhibitors even 98 per cent had contact with their international customers and 95 per cent with their German key accounts. 94 per cent of the German and 95 percent of the international exhibitors established new contacts with German buyers. At the same time 79 per cent of German and 98 per cent of foreign suppliers won new international contacts. Correspondingly high therefore was the quality of the visitors: 81 percent of the German and 88 per cent of the foreign visitors were involved in purchasing and procurement investments of their companies. Thanks to the success, 90 percent of the German companies and 92 per cent of the foreign companies are planning to exhibit again at the IDS in 2015.
Reciprocally, the visitors were also really satisfied: About three quarters of those questioned are planning to visit the International Dental Show again in March next year. The comprehensive product range and numerous product innovations ensured 79 per cent of the German and 80 per cent of the foreign trade visitors rated the exhibition offerings of the IDS in 2013 as either very good or good. Overall, 95 per cent of the visitors questioned would recommend visiting the IDS to business partners.
