Straumann Charity Bike Ride a resounding success
The fourth Straumann Charity Bike Ride proved a triumph of determination with over 50 riders completing the marathon ride across Italy – raising thousands of pounds for the Mouth Cancer Foundation (MCF).
The intrepid riders managed to cycle an impressive 500 miles in just five days in 35-degree heat, from the picturesque Lake Garda to the Italian capital, Rome. Fundraising is already well on the way to reaching the £100k target with over 50 per cent of the target already reached.
Delighted MCF founder Dr Vinod Joshi, who was there to see the cyclists cross the finish line, said, “I’m so happy and proud of the Straumann charity bike riders – we can’t wait to do something amazing with the funds raised.”
Challenge rider, Andy Morton, added, “We’ve had some steep and tough climbs along with 35-degree heat to contend with, as well as some difficult road conditions. It’s been a phenomenal ride in so many ways.”
MCF trustee Krishan Joshi was thrilled with the success of the event that ran from September 19 to 23, saying the money would go towards saving at least one life for every day of the ride.
