BDIA Dental Showcase remains one of the UK’s premier dental trade events and is a place to get hands-on experience of new products and the latest innovations from global brands, service providers, equipment manufacturers and suppliers.

It is also an event at which to learn new skills and ideas from dental industry leaders and recognised experts.  Taking place at the NEC in Birmingham on the October 22-24, this year’s show has a particular focus on the sharing of knowledge.

Along with around 350 exhibitors providing product demonstrations and presentations, there’s a programme of up to 100 free mini lectures and seminars.  The lectures cover a wide range of subjects and will help you discover new techniques, provide insightful business advice and even challenge your thinking about the practice of dentistry.

If you are looking to brush up on your techniques, the ‘Completing and maintaining the surface finish on anterior restorations’lecture, hosted by Oral-B can help you achieve a high quality finish and durability, control soft tissue problems and help patients maintain their restorations.  With a shift from amalgam placements to minimally invasive treatment options, the presentation, ‘Predictable alternatives to amalgam: resin composites, glass ionomers and giomers’by Shofu UK, may be of particular interest.

Recent research reports that nearly 70 per cent of dentists are looking to expand their businesses within the next five years, and two thirds expect profit growth in the next 12 months.  So if you want to keep ahead in business, you may want to check out the lecture programme, which includes, ‘Attract more private patients and increase profits’;hosted by FooCo, this presentation will show you proven techniques to reach more patients, gain a competitive advantage and expand your private client base.  And through practical case studies and scenarios, representatives of Lloyds Bank will explain effective ways to raise finance in the lecture, ‘Better understanding of how banks assess lending propositions’.

In addition to the mini lecture line up there will also be a programme of on stand lectures delivered by exhibitors at the show giving you the opportunity to learn as you find out about new products and services.

If you do want to attend any lectures, please note that seating is limited and all mini lectures are on a first come first served basis – so to avoid disappointment, start planning now!
