The Start-Smiling private practice, based in Ingatestone, Essex, has been acquired by Thomas Sealey and Tony Aneiros and is now set for further expansion.
The practice, which has operated in the area for more than 30 years, offers a wide range of general and cosmetic dentistry services.
The new partners, both former NHS dentists, have a passion for cosmetic dentistry and are trained in a number of advanced dental treatments including endodontics and implantology.
Thomas commented: "Having trained and worked in the NHS for a number of years, both myself and Tony thought it was now the right time to concentrate on private practice with a view to further developing our careers.
“Over the last couple of years, we’ve conducted an extensive search for the right practice and one which fits with our ambitions. Start-Smiling is extremely well-established in the local community and has a well-trained, highly-motivated staff.
“In the short-term, our aim will be to innovate and further enhance the high quality service the practice already offer our patients. Currently, around 30 per cent of our available surgery time is not being used and we plan to utilise that by extending our opening hours into two late evenings per week.
“Longer term, over the next five years, our ambition is to grow the business and we’ve already started looking at other practices which might fit with those plans.
“Throughout the process of identifying the right practice for us and completing the acquisition of the business, we both felt that we were fully supported by Clydesdale Bank. Their service was more personal and they showed an interest in both our plans for the practice and our own career development ambitions.”
Start Smiling currently employs six full-time staff as well as two part-time hygienists.
Alex Brown, regional business development manager - healthcare sector, at Clydesdale Bank, said: “Thomas and Tony possess a wide range of specialist skills across a range of disciplines which will be invaluable to patients of Start-Smiling.
“Their successful track records within the NHS have given them an excellent platform from which to launch their careers in private practice and we look forward to supporting them as they realise their ambitions for the business.”
Patrick Brennan, national lead for the dental sector with Clydesdale Bank said: “We are delighted to fund the acquisition of this practice for two such ambitious practitioners. It is yet another example of our support for this sector which is being replicated across the country and our wish to fund 'dental entrepreneurs' who have ambitious business plans."
