Retirement course

02 April 2014
Volume 29 · Issue 10

A retirement seminar, exclusively for practice owners, is to be held at the Metro Bank, Holborn WC1B on Friday April 25, 2014.

The five-hour event is aimed at practice owners expecting to retire within 10 years and will offer expert advice on a range of legal and financial considerations – from selling a practice to wealth management – as well as NHS superannuation and clinical compliance.

The panel of experienced speakers includes Martyn Bradshaw from PFM Dental who will discuss goodwill values and marketing a practice to achieve the best sale price. He will also provide answers to the question: is my practice right for a corporate buyer?

Dental solicitor, John Grant, of Goodman Grant, will offer his wealth of legal advice on selling a practice, including NHS contract transfers.

The often complicated accountancy issues – including tax planning and Entrepreneurs' Relief – related to selling a practice will be dealt with in straightforward language by Priya Kotecha of dental accountants, Mac Kotecha & Co.

Jon Drysdale from PFM Dental will advise participants how to develop a pre- and post-retirement financial strategy as well as discussing NHS pension options.

Having the correct maintenance or capitation dental plan can significantly increase the value of a practice and this is a subject which will be covered in depth by Simon Reynolds of Patient Plan Direct.

New to the programme for 2014 is a presentation on ensuring your practice is compliant prior to sale. Sean Bradley BDS MFGDP (UK), a former chair of the National Association of Dental Advisers (NADA), will share his knowledge of the CQC and other compliance requirements.

Early booking is advised as delegate places are limited and previous events have been oversubscribed. Go to www.pfmdental.co.uk or call Mandy Wraige on 0845 241 4480 to book your place. The event runs from 9.00am to 3.00pm, includes lunch and offers verifiable CPD of five hours. It costs £50 per person.
