Rajan Nansi has been appointed president of the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (BSP) for 2022, taking over from Professor Mark Ide.
As a long-serving member of the BSP, Rajan is a dedicated supporter of its work and was instrumental in setting up its Early Careers Group. “The BSP is all about raising awareness, bringing about change, educating and creating a powerful and supportive dental community. It is my aim to continue to support the amazing work undertaken by the whole of council during my tenure as president and, of course, afterwards.”
The theme of team and community is close to Rajan’s heart and he has made it an important part of the BSP Conference in October later this year. For the event, ‘New Horizons - Essentials of Clinical Science and Practical Concepts for the Practice Team’, Rajan has created a programme that will appeal practice-wide to specialists, dentists, therapists and hygienists. It has a grass roots, practical approach with knowledge and insights that will transfer back to the practice after the event.
“Working together as part of a trusted team is a really important part of the lives of all of us working in the dental sector. That’s the reason I chose to make this year’s conference accessible by and relevant to the whole team. It’s particularly poignant as we all emerge from the pandemic and start to connect fully again,” said Rajan.
Rajan is looking forward to the year ahead, as president of the BSP, family man and working in his practice Restore Dental Specialists, in Barnt Green, accepting referrals from dentists in the West Midlands and Worcestershire region.
