Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of two dental practices owned by Gower Healthcare in Swansea, South Wales.
Both practices are located in strong suburban areas. Pentrepoeth dental practice is situated in the centre of Morriston, a busy residential suburb on the outskirts of the city of Swansea, and Chapel Street dental practice sits in the heart of The Mumbles, a highly sought-after town on the edge of the Gower peninsula, west of the city of Swansea.
Gower Healthcare was owned by principal dentist, Alison Walker, and her husband, Geraint Jones. Alison is a well-known and established dentist in South Wales and has developed this excellent business over the years. The pair felt that now would be a good time to hand it over to a group owner who can develop the practices further.
After running a confidential sale process and receiving a number of offers for Gower Healthcare, Rodericks Dental was chosen as the ideal new home for the business. Rodericks Dental is the fourth largest dental corporate in the UK, with a number of practices in South Wales including in the Swansea area.
Alison comments, “Having owned the business and developed it over the years, it seemed the ideal time to become part of a larger organisation. I am looking forward to working with the Rodericks team and growing the business further over the coming years.”
Speaking on behalf of Rodericks Dental, chief executive officer, Gareth York, comments, “We are delighted to welcome Gower Healthcare to the Rodericks Group and are sure it will help strengthen our position in South Wales. It has been a pleasure working with Geraint and Alison during the process and we extend a warm welcome to all of the team at both practices. Thanks also to Christie & Co for the professional way they have handled things, as always.”
Simon Hughes, managing director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “Gower Healthcare is a great business which attracted a lot of interest from a variety of buyers in such a buoyant market. I am delighted to have represented Alison and Geraint in the sale and congratulations to them and the team at Rodericks Dental. I am sure the practice is in very safe hands and will go from strength to strength.
“The dental market in South Wales is increasingly sought after, particularly for larger mixed or private practices. There are a number of acquisitive groups based in Wales who are looking to increase their presence, as well as buyers moving in from England.”
Gower Healthcare was sold for an undisclosed price.
