“When Tooth Position is the Problem, Tooth Movement is the Answer”

Short-term orthodontics (STO) is a conservative and cosmetic approach to treating adult patients with crooked or misaligned teeth. The system is suitable for general practitioners (GDPs) and does not require previous orthodontic experience. Utilising proven orthodontic principles and a simple system, Jan Einfeldt from Staplehurst Dental will reveal how GDPs can deliver this approach with ease and predictability.

“Luxation and Luxator, CIC Innovation of 2014”

It is important to do an extraction with as little damage as possible to both the hard and soft tissue. Directa Dental has perfected this “art” with their manual and hand piece driven Luxators.  This mini lecture, presented by Jansie Van Rensburg, will revolutionise extraction methods and simplify extractions in the surgery.

“White Spots – Now You See Me, Soon You Won’t!”

Historically, patients who have been affected by deep white lesions on their teeth have had to resort to invasive dentistry to mask them. Luckily, due to modern advancements in dental materials and equipment, white spots can be replaced in a minimally invasive way. “Medical Emergency Drugs – Do You Know the Requirements?”

Lee Taylor from A to E Training & Solutions Ltd examines the requirements surrounding medical emergency drugs in the dental practice. This will be an opportunity to see the first data from a recent pilot study on compliance with national standards on medical emergency drugs, and dental care professionals’ attitudes to their use.
