Training provider Dentale has announced it will be holding a one-day course covering the Advances in Periodontology and Dental Implants for Hygienists and Therapists at its Shrewsbury clinic.
The course, which will be headed up by tutor Chaido Akrivopoulou DDS MClinDent (Lond), is aimed at both newly-qualified and experienced hygienists, and will look to offer delegates an evidence-based update regarding new periodontal techniques, as well as building confidence in treating patients with implants.
Offering five hours of verifiable CPD, the one-day programme will combine both lectures and practical sessions, and cover topics including periodontitis and peri-implantitis theory update, advanced surgical periodontal treatment and technologies, and the basics of implant aftercare advice. Participants will also get the opportunity to experiment with a range of ultrasonic devices and hand instruments, as well as discovering how to discuss patients’ everyday treatment needs, provide guidance regarding treatment options, and how to motivate patients to maintain good oral hygiene.
“This course is a great way for both experienced hygienists, and those who are newly qualified and just embarking on their careers, to learn new periodontal techniques,” Debbie Snelson, Group Manager of Dentale, commented. “At just £150+VAT per delegate, the course represents excellent value for money too. Initial interest has already been high.”
