Integrated Dental Holdings (IDH) has announced the appointment of Annette Spindler to the role of chief operating officer. As part of the C.O.O. role she will oversee marketing, operations, and the dental group’s network of over 550 practices.

Annette joins IDH after five years of strategic consultancy work in the retail sector, working for a wide range of clients including Primark, GAME Group and The White Company.

Prior to her consultancy work, Annette has held a number of high profile retail roles. As a key member of the Alliance Pharmacy Executive Board, she designed and implemented the marketing strategy to support the newly launched brand. As MD she substantially improved the performance of Scholl Retail UK, taking it through to a subsequent successful private equity sale. As marketing director at Lloydspharmacy she was responsible for consumer, NHS & B2B marketing, as well as space planning, category management, buying, internet and internal communication.

Annette commented on her appointment: “I am really excited to be joining a new sector and getting to grips with the opportunities dentistry presents. I have already identified the need to do even more for our patients and customers and the best way to achieve this is by making the most of our great people and expert clinicians. We must always strive to better engage our customers and help them make informed choices to improve their oral healthcare. We have to be brilliant, and we have to be this consistently.”

Terry Scicluna, chief executive officer of IDH, also commented:“Annette has undertaken almost every role conceivable in a retail environment since she started her career while still in full-time education. As a result, she brings an enviable range of experience to IDH. Her role oversees everything that we deliver to our patients and customers. We have to be at the forefront of changes in the dental sector to remain at its centre, and Annette’s role is a key part of this.”

Annette joined IDH in April 2014, and splits her time between IDH practices and its head office.
