Since its launch in early September, there have been a significant number of requests to join special courses for providers who are new to Invisalign – and the first one has already taken place underlining the appetite for this training. This is because the new, simplified approach to teeth straightening takes GDPs through identifying, planning and monitoring aesthetic cases, enabling them to use Invisalign to treat patients confidently right from the get go.
Invisalign Go is suitable for simple aesthetic treatments to the anterior teeth (first premolar to first premolar) and to ensure the right cases are treated by the right GDPs, new case assessment software ensures that patient selection is safe and straightforward. After uploading intraoral pictures of their patient to Align Technology’s proprietary system, GDPs will receive an evaluation of the case’s suitability for Invisalign Go. More excitingly, Align Technology has partnered with UK based Aligner Consulting, which gives Invisalign Go providers personal feedback and support about why the software gave the result it did. This becomes an invaluable educational tool to help providers assess cases themselves even before submitting, them and to help them further understand the appropriate cases they are able to treat within their scope of practice.
If the case is deemed too complex for Invisalign Go, a digitally aided referral process is initiated which allows the GDP to transfer all patient records to an Invisalign provider who has been fully trained on the Invisalign comprehensive portfolio. As well as ensuring every patient receives the right treatment, this means the dentist is able to build working stronger relationships with the local specialists to whom they are referring.
Every GDP who signs up to Invisalign Go will experience a thorough and stimulating training programme which comprises of an online component and a training day with live hands-on sessions to provide a thorough understanding of how Invisalign Go works. Align Technology have ensured high demand can be catered for by holding multiple training courses across the country; the cost for the whole course is only £450.
Align Technology has also created a comprehensive CPD programme to ensure that each new provider has sustained support throughout their early experience with Invisalign Go. They are also encouraged to join the Aligner Consulting’s free online community and tap into expert training, coaching, mentoring and ongoing support for those new to the Invisalign system.
The cost for an Invisalign Go single arch treatment is £655, whilst a dual arch treatment is £875. With a fixed lab fee there are no hidden surprises and any additional aligners required to reach the original treatment goal are included at no extra charge.
