Alina Baldovinescu, a dental nurse and manager from Central Dental Care in Wembley, London, beat off competition from around the world to be awarded the title of ILM Learner of the Year 2011 at a glittering ceremony attended by more than 500 people in London.

The ILM Learner of the Year award celebrates learners who have excelled in their chosen qualification, inspired others, or achieved success for their organisation as a result of taking an ILM programme.  Alina recently completed her ILM Level 5 Diploma in Management with UMD Professional and was nominated for the award by her principal, Martin Delahaye, and UMD Professional for her commitment to learning and for the way she implemented what she learned on her course for the benefit of the practice.

Martin said ‘We are thrilled to see Alina’s success as it recognises not just her own dedication to learning but also  the contribution that she has made to the practice.’

‘This is the second consecutive year that a dental practice manager studying  with UMD Professional has won this important award’ said Fiona Stuart-Wilson, director of UMD Professional. ‘Alina’s success is well-deserved and she is an inspiration to other managers.  The support she has received from her practice has also been outstanding.’
