Dentale’s week-long introduction to implantology course is suitable for GDC registered dentists with little to no previous experience of implantology.

The course will take them through the entire implant procedure; from start to finish they will learn all there is to know about implant placement. Beginning with the background and planning stages of implant surgery, including dental anatomy, implant design, surgical theory and the practical use of the implant kit, the course will also cover suturing and postoperative care, using pig heads; and placement techniques and treatment planning skills, including prosthetic components. In addition, delegates will get to experience live surgeries, learn about bone augmentation and, finally, place an implant on a patient.

The course will be taught by skilled tutors and experienced implant nurses who will guide and support delegates through the whole journey. Full comprehensive course notes and on-going advice and mentoring is also available once the course is complete to help support the development of implant skills.

This interactive course aims to provide delegates with the basic knowledge and understanding required to carry out a dental implant procedure. By the end of the course, participants should have a basic knowledge and understanding of dental implantology and will have placed a dental implant in a patient, under supervision. Taught by hands-on tuition in a clinical environment, under the supervision of a team of highly trained professional tutors, Dentale’s courses are run in accordance with the GDC guidelines.
