Cathy was presented with her award by Professor Corrado Paganelli, ADEE president, at a presentation at the ADEE Annual Conference in Barcelona.
Cathy was recently awarded a senior fellowship by the Health Education Academy. She has 28 years’ experience as a dental practitioner and has lectured at PUPSD since 2012. She is a master in clinical education and has published two papers on dental education.
She specialises in enquiry based learning, remediation for struggling students and the training of academic tutors. Cathy is year 4 lead, clinical audit module lead, widening participation lead and senior personal tutor at PUPSD.
Speaking of the award, Cathy said: “I am honoured to receive this European award at the ADEE 2016 conference in Barcelona. It is international recognition of my contribution and commitment to the advancement of dental education. I could not have achieved this without the support I have received from Peninsula Dental School and the wider PUPSMD faculty. And I am proud to be a part of an innovative cutting edge team.”
Professor Christopher Tredwin, head of PUPSD, added: “Our congratulations go to Cathy for this superb achievement.
