Over 80 leading lights from the UK and overseas will be joining delegates and exhibitors at this year’s British Dental Conference and Exhibition. The event returns to Manchester’s Central Convention Complex for May 26-28.

Top clinical names presenting on the latest dental techniques will be joined by the minister for dentistry, personal development experts and some of those at the forefront of dental policy, providing an insight into where dentistry is heading in the future and what that means dental professionals.

Heading the line-up of clinical speakers is Gary DeWood, private practitioner and director of curriculum at Spear Education, USA. Gary DeWood brings over thirty years’ experience in general practice and a decade spent helping dentists sharpen their skills. Delegates in Manchester will be able to hear him speak on recognising occlusal problems and facially generated treatment planning.

Amongst those joining Gary DeWood on the line up are Nik Pandya, a specialist in periodontics at Queen Mary University of London; Brian Millar, a professor and consultant in restorative dentistry at King’s College London; Subir Banerji, also from King’s College and expert private practitioner Linda Greenwall.

Dental policy and politics also feature on the programme. As well as a keynote speech by the minister for dentistry Alistair Burt MP; Sandra White, director of dental public health at Public Health England, will talk about how evidence on sugar consumption and fluoride can support dentists in creating future generations free from decay. Further insight into the future of NHS Dentistry in England will be provided in the presentation by the chair and vice chairs of the BDA’s General Dental Practice Committee on prototypes and commissioning guides.

Up to 15 hours verifiable CPD is on offer for those attending the event, which also includes a large exhibition, dedicated demonstration and personal development theatres, a full evening social programme and access to free one-to-one advice sessions with BDA and industry experts.

The full Conference programme is now available to view online. A range of ticket options are available for BDA members, non-members and other members of the dental team. Conference passes can be purchased at a reduced ‘early bird’ price until March 7, 2016. For further details or to register call 0844 381 9769 or visit www.bda.org/conference
