James and Kay Hallows were previously dentists in Longwell Green. They will be investing about £500,000 to expand, reconfigure and refurbish the former Hanham dental surgery and to fit it out with state of the art dental equipment. Funding for the purchase of the premises was provided by Curtis Banks.
It is anticipated that the new surgery, trading as Hallows Dental Practice, will open its doors to private and Denplan patients in summer 2017.
James Hallows commented, “VWV’s wealth of knowledge and experience were evident from our first meeting and continued through to completion. Looking back, there was very little we had to do and I think that speaks volumes about the capabilities of… our advisers. To say that we were impressed, particularly with Gemma Pouncy’s extraordinary efforts in expediting the transaction in its latter stages, is an understatement.”
VWV healthcare lawyer Gemma Pouncy, who led the property aspects of the acquisition, reacted, "I am delighted to have helped James and Kay to acquire the premises for their new dental practice. Whilst the transaction has had its share of complexity, one of the joys of working with professionals in the healthcare sector is that I am able to play a part in the development of local businesses which are pivotal to the communities which they serve.
The Hallows' enthusiasm for their work, together with the alterations they will make to the building, will mean that they are able to provide a truly top class service to their patients, and Hallows Dental Practice will be a real asset to the Hanham area."
The purchase completed just days before VWV's Healthcare team were joined by the Lockharts healthcare specialists on January 30. Lockharts' acknowledged expertise in dealing with transactions involving dental transactions supports VWV's existing track record in this area.
