On September 9, 2023, team Schein members from Henry Schein Dental, Henry Schein Medical, Optident, BioHorizons Camlog, and the Henry Schein One brands Software of Excellence and Dentally, came together for a charitable outdoor challenge. Their mission was to raise £7,000 in support of health charities.
In the challenge, 25 team members completed a 24-mile walk round trip that included 1,585 meters of ascent. The three peaks are Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough.
The team Schein members raised funds for three dedicated charities:
- Mind - provides advice and support to anyone experiencing mental health
- Dementia UK - a charity that helps the families of people suffering from
- Naomi House & Jacksplace - a children's hospice that provides care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
These charities have had a significant impact on many of those who walked the three peaks and have relentlessly supported many other Team Schein Members and families affected by mental diseases in the country.
James Salter, corporate social responsibility co-chair at Henry Schein UK, said, “Overcoming this great challenge wasn't easy, but we knew we were doing it for great causes. We are deeply thankful to everyone who contributed to our fundraising page. Those contributions will make a difference to the lives of many people affected by mental health issues and children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.”
The Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge initiative is part of Henry Schein Cares, the company’s global corporate social responsibility programme.
