mydentist, part of the largest dental group in Europe, has won a silver RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Award in recognition of the company’s commitment to continuously improving accident and ill-health prevention at work for the benefit of its 8m patients and its 6,600 strong UK based workforce.

It provides NHS and private dentistry at more than 650 practices across the country and clinical services director, Steve Williams said he is ‘delighted’ with the award.

“I am very proud to lead such a dedicated team and this award is a direct reflection of all their hard work and the care we take to provide clinically excellent, safe and welcoming dentistry to millions of people around the UK,” he explained.

RoSPA’s mission is to save lives and reduce injuries among all ages and stages of life. In support of this mission, the RoSPA Awards, which date back 59 years, recognise organisations, such as mydentist, who excel in providing staff working environments.

Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA Awards encourage improvement in occupational health and safety management. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as mydentist, contribute to raising standards overall and we congratulate them.”
