GDC reminder

Volume 28 · Issue 10

The General Dental Council (GDC) is reminding all dentists not to miss the December 31 2012 deadline to pay their Annual Retention Fee (ARF) and remain on the register.

All dentists must be registered with the GDC to work in the UK.

The £576 fee for registration with the GDC must be paid by midnight on December 31 2012. The GDC will not be able to accept any payments after that time. It is important to remember that if dentists don’t pay, they will be putting their registration at risk.

Registrants can pay their ARF via the eGDC website, automated payment line or by cheque, bankers draft or postal order. The fee will be collected via direct debit on December 1 2012 for all dentists who have a direct debit set up.

The GDC’s assistant director of operations Gurvinder Soomal said:

“I would encourage as many registrants as possible to take advantage of our eGDC website        at www.eGDC-uk.org to pay their ARF and to manage other aspects of their registration with   us as well. If you don’t already have an account you can set one up now. All recent ARF             related correspondence contains your ID verification code, which you’ll need to create your eGDC account.”

All payment options open onMonday November 5 2012and will remain open until December 31 2012, except for those paying by direct debit. Direct debit payments are taken on December 1 2012. No payments can be processed after the December 31 2012 deadline so registrants must ensure their payment is received on or before midnight on that date.
