Visitors to the AOG’s Annual Summer BBQ and Family Day received a warm welcome and excellent hospitality. Around 300 guests came to the grounds of the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in Elstree, Hertfordshire, to enjoy music, entertainment, and each others’ company. With its low price of admission and relaxed atmosphere, the AOG’s Family Day is a way in which the organisation can show its members how much it appreciates their backing.

The day was an occasion for all the family, with children being entertained with a bouncy castle, Jungle Jim, sumo suits and a fun slide. Face-painting and games of football and cricket on the adjacent school playing field were also enjoyed by the younger attendees. The biggest draw, however, proved to be ‘Safari Pete’, whose display of animals from around the world included snakes, meerkats and scorpions and delighted not just the children but their parents and grandparents as well.

Visitors continued to mingle, relishing the delicious selection of food on offer as well as beer, wine and soft drinks, until taking their leave in the early evening. The group would like to thank its members and their families for coming and hopes to see them all again next year.
