The epic journey ended with an emotional and triumphant homecoming, which saw supporters, family and friends welcoming cyclists back at their UK offices based in Crawley.
Organised by Ride2Raise, the Straumann Charity Bike Ride took place during the course of six days (19-24 September 2013). A continental journey that began at Straumann’s headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, the team of 24 cyclists (accompanied by a support team), embarked on an inspiring journey across three countries through St Dizier, Reims, Amiens, Calais and Dover.
Completing six challenging stages, the fundraisers covered certain routes, which are famously known to be part of the Tour de France. Experiencing a once in a lifetime opportunity, it truly involved personal strength (both mental and physical), stamina and determination, a few punctures (19) and most importantly, teamwork.
Steve Booth, managing director of Straumann UK congratulated the team; “The past six days has been a truly inspirational journey. I am extremely proud of everyone who took part and grateful to those who donated for these very worthwhile causes.
Collectively raising over £25,000 for charities CLAPA community and Bridge2Aid, Straumann UK would like to thank everyone who contributed to the event.
