The Menai Bridge Dental Practice is celebrating 50 years of supporting the local community this September. First opened in 1971, the practice has been providing essential and cosmetic dentistry to patients ever since.
As well as celebrating the past, the team are excited for the future as they are soon to offer patients new treatments, thanks to a new clinical dental technician joining the team. One of only 400 in the UK, they’ll be able to make and fit dentures directly for patients at the practice.
The practice will also be offering ‘Smile in a day’ – a treatment where loose, rotten and missing teeth or dentures are replaced with dental implants and a full set of fixed teeth on the same day.
Michelle Winson, practice manager, is proud of their long-standing reputation in the community. She said, “We were one of the first practices locally to place dental implants, with the original owner, Graham Roy, known internationally for his work in implantology. I’m really proud of the team for retaining that reputation today.
“People’s teeth have such an impact on the way they feel – they’re quite literally a reason to smile. It’s nice to reflect and realise how many people we’ve helped, whilst also knowing that we’ll make an even bigger impact in the years ahead.”
Naomi Manchester, treatment co-ordinator and qualified nurse, is the longest serving member of the team having been at the practice since 2008. She said, "I’ve seen a lot of changes over the years, but the team we have in place to mark our 50th year is so strong. I’m really proud of the relationships we’ve built with our patients too and look forward to the next 50 years!”
