Dental plan provider welcomes new team member

19 July 2024

Practice Plan is improving the support it offers to multi-site customers with the recruitment of a support team member.

Having been the lead contact for groups of practices for nearly 15 years, Lynne Womersley, business development manager at Practice Plan, has welcomed a new field-based colleague. James Cameron, former employee of Practice Plan Group patient finance company, Medenta, has said he has, “Come back home”, after a five-year absence.

James has extensive knowledge of Practice Plan as he began his career with Wesleyan, parent company of Practice Plan and Medenta in 2010. Between 2016 and 2019 he was part of the field team for Medenta supporting dental practices across the UK.

Before taking up his role with Practice Plan, James spent time broadening his experience by working in business development and account management at an insurance company, an accountancy training provider, and a tax consultancy firm.

James said, “Although I’ve enjoyed learning new things and widening my experience, no where's ever really felt like home like Practice Plan Group does.

“I went out to look at the wider world and I've done some great things, but I just felt like I belonged back here at Practice Plan. This has proven to be the right choice for me, and I have really appreciated the warm welcome I’ve received from the whole team.”

James has been visiting existing clients. He said, “I want to get back into the practice environment, so that I can understand it, pick up on what's changed and refresh myself.

“I thrived in the dental sector previously, undertaking a similar role at Medenta. This involved gaining a deep understanding of the unique challenges dental practices face. By doing this I could offer effective solutions. So, I now want to make sure that I can surpass what I had to offer previously through the experience I’ve gained elsewhere and my more diverse knowledge.”

As well as supporting Lynne, James will also be assessing whether he can be of assistance to other groups of practices as well. James explains, “We’re obviously aware of a lot of dental groups that are currently with us. However, it’s very likely there are others we’d look forward to working with.

“Part of my role will be to try to establish relationships with them and continue to build our impressive network.”

James’ primary focus will be on supporting existing clients and he said, “I will be asking our group customers how we can better support them. What do they need? And how do we help them grow?

“There may be some customers who are unaware of our proposition for groups. So, we want to make sure they’re aware of how we can be of assistance to them and giving the support they require; doing what we can to help them with their business ambitions and to ensure their businesses grow. I can’t wait to really get stuck into the role.”

Zoe Close, head of sales, welcomes James’ appointment as a positive boost to Practice Plan’s ability to take care of dental groups. Zoe said, “We're truly excited about welcoming James to our team!”

“This decision underscores our unwavering dedication to supporting, not only our team members, but also our practice groups.

“James brings a fresh perspective and a rich skill set that will undoubtedly elevate our collective efforts. With his invaluable contributions, I'm certain we'll achieve even greater success in serving our ever-expanding portfolio of clients."
