Mydentist has been announced as one of the top eight employer businesses in the UK.
The dental provider was one of 143 businesses shortlisted to win an award at the ceremony that is set to take place in Edinburgh on April 24, 2025.
Nilesh Pandya, chief executive officer of Mydentist, said, “We’re delighted to be shortlisted in this year’s British Business Awards. Our purpose at Mydentist is helping the nation smile, and our people and patients are at the heart of everything we do. We want Mydentist to be the best place to work and practise in UK dentistry, which is why we’re investing more than £50m a year in growing our practices, investing in our teams and building state-of-the-art practices with the latest technology.”
Over 300 companies entered the awards, and the shortlisted businesses were chosen by an independent shortlisting panel. Each entry was examined and judged on their positive impact to their workforce, sector and overall contribution to the economy. The shortlist is set to be assessed by the main judging panel comprising of 18 independent judges.
The awards are raising funds for beneficiary homelessness charity Social Bite, with a target of raising £1m through the event and a fundraising lunch.
Alan Jope, former CEO of Unilever and chair of the judging panel, said, “In spite of the economic headwinds facing British businesses, our incredible shortlist shows that leading British companies are thriving and in turn are powering the economy and job creation through their hard work and resilience. It came across loud and clear from the hundreds of entries we received for the awards that businesses are having to innovate and adapt like never before. It’s been inspirational to see the incredible work that’s going on behind the scenes in companies of all shapes and sizes across the UK.
“The 2025 shortlist reflects the hugely diverse range of businesses we have in this country, and I know our judging panel are going to have some tough decisions on their hands when it comes to determining our winners.”
Libby Jones, chief people officer at Mydentist, concluded, “We’ve recently developed our new people values - We respect each other, we grow together, and we achieve as one - to reflect the supportive and empowering environment we’ve built for our teams across the country. Our people are what makes Mydentist such a brilliant place to work and practise, and being shortlisted as Employer of the Year at the British Business Awards marks an exciting chapter for Mydentist, in which we can continue to build the UK's leading network of dental practices, transforming the way we deliver dentistry and creating opportunities for everyone.”
