Dental care provider relocates following £1.5m investment

20 September 2024

The UK’s largest dental care provider, mydentist, has relocated its St Neots practice following a substantial investment of £1.5m.

The mydentist St Neots practice, which is now located on Tebbutts Road, was launched by practice manager, Charlotte Anthony, and her team on September 18, 2024.

Following a project that lasted over 18 months, all the dentists and staff from the previous St Neots site have moved to the new site on Tebbutts Road, where patient appointments are underway.

The move has marked a substantial enhancement for the 15,390 patients of mydentist in the community of St Neots, who will benefit from a modern, state-of-the-art practice, a greater range of dental treatments and technology, as well as improved wheelchair and disabled access.

Jon Day, mydentist area development manager, said, “We’ve been working very hard to relocate to a more accessible site in St Neots for the last 18 months, so to see the new practice finally open is fantastic. With 10 modern surgeries, we now have much more choice for patients, plus our team are benefitting from improved facilities.

“Our aim was to meet the needs of our patients and our team here in St Neots now and in the future, and feedback so far has been extremely positive.”

Through doubling its number of surgeries, the practice has recruited four new dentists who are set to join the team in November 2024, allowing it to expand its future NHS availability for the community of St Neots. The practice’s increased capacity has allowed it to expand its hygiene offering, becoming the first dental practice in the area to introduce Guided Biofilm Therapy, an advanced treatment that offers a more precise and deeper clean.

Jon added, “We know that accessing dental care in this region is difficult which is why we’re delighted to have been able to recruit four new dentists, who are set to join the team in November, allowing us to open up more NHS availability to the community of St Neots. We are also pleased to be able to offer {my}options, an affordable way to access a dentist when you need one, with options to spread the cost of your treatment.”

Also, a treatment coordinator has been appointed at the practice to provide a cohesive, smooth treatment journey for private patients, who can access clear aligner, teeth whitening, implants and endodontic dental treatments.

The mydentist St Neots practice will be accepting NHS patients from November 2024 and are accepting patients under the mydentist’s affordable private dental offering.

Charlotte Anthony, practice manager at mydentist St Neots, said, "I am delighted to reveal the new facilities and flexibility of appointment times that we can now offer to our patients. With our recent enhancements and expanded services, we're well placed to deliver a higher level of dental care and provide an even more exceptional experience to our community. The new practice is across one floor, making it more accessible for patients living with a disability or limited mobility, too.

“In a climate where accessing NHS dentistry is a challenge due to the shortage of dentists nationally, we’re really pleased to have been able to recruit new dentists and ultimately expand our NHS capacity."

She concluded, “Through the addition of a CBCT scanner and two intraoral scanners, we also can now offer our patients a more comfortable journey, in addition to a larger range of treatments. We look forward to welcoming patients into the practice over the coming weeks and months."
