Orthodontist Rob Slater has been invited by Denplan to deliver a series of masterclasses on orthodontic controversies and the lecture tour begins in the New Forest this week (September  17).

The head  of  External  Relations  for  the  British  Orthodontic  Society,  Rob is  a  guest speaker at Denplan’s 2015 key client forums and will focus on the potential perils of orthodontic treatments. In a presentation entitled ‘Danger, orthodontics!’his key message to his audience will be to ensure that the initial examination of the patient takes into account their wishes and expectations as well as assessing their suitability for treatment. Rob will take his audience through a typical examination so dentists understand how to identify potential pitfalls and optimise their assessments.  He will also provide some illuminating case studies. He commented: “Marketing of appliances to dentists can gloss over the inherent complexities in some individual malocclusions so that practitioners believe that the system they have invested in offers solutions for all patients.” Between September 17 and early December Rob will be delivering the lecture  in many different locations  around  the  UK.
