When historians look back on 2010 it may well be considered the year of harmony. Two political parties worked together to form a coalition Government after the general election brought a hung parliament, and at the other end of the cultural spectrum Robbie Williams rejoined Take That!
The idea of working together has penetrated the dental world too, and the theme of this year’s BDTA Dental Showcase is Harmony, with a focus on innovation, education, and integration.
The premier dental event is back at the ExCel in London from October 14-16, and over 13,000 members of the dental team are expected to attend. Over 320 companies are exhibiting and the latest and most innovative products designed to help integrate the dental practices will be on show.
The time spent walking around the exhibition, BDTA Dental Showcase, provides the perfect opportunity to learn about the latest materials, equipment, products, services and technologies in one location, enabling the core CPD subject to be comprehensively covered to improve knowledge and understanding of new techniques.
The duration of a visitor’s stay will contribute to their general CPD hours, and there are many ways delegates can add to their verifiable CPD at Showcase. They are:
- lectures
- seminars
- show guide questions and
- knowledge hunt.
Pavilion
The pavilion at this year’s Showcase will give visitors the opportunity to see the dental associations representing the major occupational groups within the dental team.
It will be located just inside the entrance of the hall giving the entire dental team convenient access to the personnel and services offered by each association, encouraging interaction and providing a practical example of working together for the benefit of the industry.
The professional dental associations that will feature on the pavilion are:
- BADN
- DPA
- DLA
- DTA
- BDPMA
- BADT
- BSDHT
- CDTA
- BDTA
Tony Reed explained, ‘It fits in perfectly with our ‘Working in harmony’ theme and provides a platform for the associations which reflects the importance of the role that they play in the work of the dental team.’
Location
As the exhibition is in London this year, it means delegates can extend their Showcase experience to take in the lights and sights of the capital.
The ExCel centre itself is easily accessible by car, train and even plane (London City Airport is just five minutes away).
There is easy access from the M25, M11, A406 and A13, and for the technophiles with SatNavs, the recommended postcode to use is E16 1DR.
For those travelling by train there are three Dockland Light Railway stations onsite. The Jubilee line is recommended as the quickest route from central London. ExCel is situated in Zone 3, and London Underground tickets are valid on the DLR.
