The new Saturday opening has already proved very popular, particularly with young professionals based in the city centre, who can’t get to the clinic during the week.
New dentist, Graham Thomson joins the team having practiced in the region for several years. Originally from Loughborough, Graham studied dentistry at Newcastle University, graduating in 1998.
Graham has always had an interest in cosmetic dentistry and had the opportunity to train under Larry Rosenthal and Trent Smallwood, two of the world’s foremost cosmetic dentistry specialists.
Graham says: ‘There is something very rewarding about cosmetic dentistry. It’s amazing the difference it can make to someone’s confidence when you are able to improve his or her smile. Just the smallest change can make a huge difference to the way someone feels about the way they look.’
The Cosmetic Dental Clinic holds the Platinum Elite Status for Invisalign: a treatment involving a series of clear braces, which are replaced every fortnight for a period of nine to 15 months and gradually straighten the patient’s teeth.
Speaking of Graham’s appointment, Darren Cannell, cofounder of The Cosmetic Dental Clinic says: ‘Graham is a welcome addition to the team and has enabled us to extend our offering now opening on a Saturday meaning that patients can now visit us without having to adhere to the constraints of the working week. We are committed to delivering the highest standards of treatment and to being as flexible as possible for our patients and Graham is a big part of helping us to achieve this.’
The appointment of Graham and the newly extended practice hours follow a period of significant growth for the clinic. Over the course of the last 12 months, a dental hygienist was appointed, two new dental nurses also joined the team and a new surgical suite was opened on the first floor to accommodate increased patient levels.
