Yesterday at Waterloo station commuters were left in disarray and confusion as a brushswap marketing scheme gone wrong created only chaos and confusion.

Colgate were forced to close the stand they had set up at Waterloo station for a brushswap after thousands turned up to swap their old electric toothbrush for the new ProClinical A1500 (of which they had only brought 150).  Network rail asked the stand to close down as it was causing chaos to the already busy station at rush hour.

Philips sonicare have benefitted from Colgate’s mishap with their brushswap on twitter.  Philips opted for tweeters to tweet a picture of their old toothbrush and 50 winners would be selected from both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Though not all bargain hunters were disappointed by Colgate’s failure to predict crowds in rush hour with some tweeters sharing their delight of a new toothbrush

Tweeters are hoping it will be Philip’s to the rescue for their electric toothbrush needs.
