Boss of the Year

Jeremy Peak, an orthodontist in Truro was recently awarded the ‘Boss of the Year’ title by Pirate FM, a large commercial radio station serving the South West. 

The annual awards aim to celebrate the “unsung heroes in the community” with the14 categories attracted hundreds of nominations.

Jeremy was nominated by the team at The River Practice Specialist Centre in Truro who wanted to recognize his commitment to staff development and training and his dedication to his patients which have made The River Practice one of Britain’s most highly regarded referral centres.

Lisa Holmes, the practice manager, said that “Jeremy sets the tone for the practice, he is always smiling and creates a positive atmosphere – we pride ourselves on our professionalism yet manage to have a lot of fun”. Jeremy says: ‘I was so surprised when I had the phone call from Pirate FM – I really thought it was a prank call as I had no idea that I had been entered; we have a great team spirit and like to make the atmosphere as relaxed as possible so that our patients share the benefits.  I was particularly touched to hear that every member of the team had contributed to the entry”. 

The award was presented at a prestigious ceremony held at The Eden Project, Cornwall which included a live performance by Kian Egan of Westlife and recently crowned “King of the Jungle”.
