A Shropshire dentist, who already offers family, general and cosmetic dentistry, is expanding its service to include a new beauty room.

The new holistic treatments are all part of Wycherley’s Dental Practice’s focus on patient care, encouraging people to relax and not be scared about visiting the dentist.

The treatments, which will range from massages to facials, are carried out by beautician Frankie Trumper on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the Newport High Street practice.

Miss Trumper started work at the practice in March 2012, aged 17, and is undergoing rigorous training as a dental nurse. In September, she started her NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing.

“When Frankie joined Wycherley’s, she was also part way through her first year of a beauty therapy course so she was encouraged to continue with this alongside undertaking her dental nurse qualification,” said practice owner Ashok Jakhu.

“Since starting at Wycherley’s, Frankie has shown commitment to the job and impressed me with her attitude and work ethic.”

Miss Trumper completed her Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy in June and will sit exams for her Diploma in Dental Nursing in July.

“I am thrilled Frankie has passed her beauty therapy course and we can now offer a wider range of services to our customers,” said Jakhu.

“The treatments will be carried out in our cosmetic room, where I also carry out botox and dermal fillers.

“These holistic treatments have amazing physical and physiological benefits. They can even decrease anxiety.

“I think we are the only dental practice in Shropshire offering this extra service to our customers and it just shows we are able to give the time and attention a patient needs.

“Sometimes a facial can be the perfect way for someone to relax and feel the benefits of anti-ageing creams if they do not want the procedure of botox or dermal fillers.”

Miss Trumper said she is excited about offering the extra services to customers and can’t wait for the new beauty room to open in July.

“It’s been a lot of work doing both courses and working part time but it will be worth it in the end,” she said.
