The event takes place at London ExCeL on April 25-27, 2013.
The GDC will be giving out free patient leaflets on tooth whitening to dental professionals who visit stand i 7. They will also have the opportunity to meet members of the council who will be on the stand.
The GDC sessions will be Friday April 26 - Theatre 4, 2.15pm for ‘radical changes ahead - the GDC prepares for the future’ and Friday 26 April - Training essentials theatre, 11am for ‘working to deliver dentistry in line with patient expectations’.
Radical changes ahead will be delivered by Kevin O’Brien (GDC Chair) and Evlynne Gilvarry (GDC Chief Executive). It includes, gaining awareness of the GDC’s work, future aims, strategy and how this may impact dental professionals, cost effective regulation – finding out about how the annual retention fee pays for patient protection and understanding the importance of contributing to the GDC’s work.
Working to deliver dentistry in line with patient expectations will be delivered by Kevin O’Brien. It includes exploring the aims and objectives of the GDC’s corporate strategy and how they reflect the approach of proportionate regulation in dentistry, understanding the role of patient expectations and safety, and how this influences policy development at the GDC and finally, find out how progress in key projects such as direct access, the review of standards and CPD will impact dental professionals.
