Award win for restorative material
Pulpdent, in association with Prestige Dental Ltd, is announcing that, in the recent Dental Advisor Award Review, Activa BioActive Restorative received a clinical performance rating of 98 per cent at the two-year recall.
Results are based on a two-year review of 158 restorations, placed with and without the use of a bonding agent, and show:
Unlike traditional aesthetic restorative materials, Activa BioActive stimulates apatite formation at the tooth-material interface, which reduces sensitivity, guards against secondary caries, and seals margins against microleakage and failure. The material is moisture-friendly and contains a shock-absorbing rubberised resin component and bioactive glass fillers that mimic the physical and chemical properties of natural teeth. It delivers all the advantages of glass ionomers and composites, is dual-cure, durable, releases more calcium, phosphate, fluoride ions than GI’s and is Bisphenol A, Bis-GMA and BPA derivative-free.
Activa BioActive was awarded the Dental Advisor Top Bioactive Product in 2016 and 2017.
