A private clinic located in the picturesque village of Cemaes Bay, Anglesey, the dental practice was founded by David Meacher in the late 1980s. The dental business has been acquired by Dylan Jones, the founder of Glandwr Dental, as part of his group’s ongoing expansion across North and West Wales.
Dylan has built a growing portfolio of practices, with established clinics in Pwllheli and Penrhyndeudraeth. ProPractices, a healthcare corporate finance consultancy who advised on the sale, said the acquisition marks the next chapter in Glandwr Dental’s commitment to accessible and patient-centred dentistry in some of Wales’ most underserved rural communities.
Hywel Loveluck, founder and CEO of ProPractices, commented, “We’re proud to have advised on the successful sale of Cemaes Bay Dental Practice – a respected and much-loved clinic that has served the Anglesey community for decades. It was a privilege to act for David, a longstanding figure in Welsh dentistry, and I’m especially pleased to see the practice pass to Dylan – an ambitious clinician we’ve known for many years, who brings energy, clarity of vision, and a strong commitment to patient care.
“This transaction reflects wider market dynamics. NHS dentistry across England and Wales is under sustained pressure, with access to care becoming a national concern. Wales is exploring new contract models, but rural and coastal communities continue to face serious workforce shortages. Against that backdrop, private dentistry is thriving – driven by growing patient demand for timely, high-quality treatment. Practices like Cemaes Bay are increasingly attractive to forward-thinking operators.
“As someone from Anglesey myself, I take personal pride in helping secure the future of this important healthcare service for the island.”
