- Manage the transformation from analogue to digital
- Adapt and thrive within the Covid-19 environment
- Implement more efficient ways to engage patients and manage chair time
- Maximise the benefits of owning an intraoral scanner, and explore the opportunities offered by adopting a digital workflow
The kick-off event on October 21 featured Ingo Baresel (Germany), president of DGDOA (German Association for Intraoral Scanning), who explained why transitioning and accelerating to the use of digital dentistry is a compelling option for today’s dental professionals. Ingo described the journey through workflow efficiency, enhanced patient communication and visualisation, to sustainable practice growth.
Gianluca Plotino (Italy), who specialises in endodontics and restorative dentistry, expanded on the theme of ‘Why Digital?’, sharing a roadmap to guide the analog to digital journey. Wayne Williams (UK), an experienced prosthodontist then explained why he chose to switch from analog to digital, talking about the challenges he faced and how he managed to overcome them, as well as sharing the tips for those taking the same journey.
The second event on October 28 (7:30pm CET – 9pm CET), will look at “hitting the dental reset button”, with guest speakers critically assessing the Covid-19 challenge to dentistry, highlighting strategies to engage with patients, deliver excellent dental care and implement practice workflows and efficiencies.
Dental business coach Chris Barrow (UK) will review the macro-economic landscape in the final quarter of 2020 and demonstrate what his most successful clients are doing to stay busy, focused and profitable within the restrictions of Covid-19, the changes in the buying habits of consumers and surfing the challenges of a deep global recession. He will be joined by Marcos White (UK), who exceeded his pre-Covid-19 profitability by completely reinventing his patients’ journeys by combining the skills of his treatment coordinator team with digital systems. He will share the Align Technology tools that have contributed to his successful experience. Finally, Ingo Baresel will explore why dental professionals have had to re-evaluate how they provide restorative dentistry in the new digital eco-system.
The third event on November 25 (7:30pm CET – 9pm CET) will take the format of a round-table discussion and will focus on the changing role of the dental laboratory in the digital environment. Joining the panel will be Ashley Byrne, the head of one of the leading laboratories in the UK, who will explore the critical topics impacting dental laboratories today, including how to define the successful collaboration between dentists and dental technicians and what factors play a crucial role in it. The panel will be moderated by Chris Barrow and include questions sent from laboratory technicians and owners prior to the event.
The Digital Excellence Series will conclude on December 16 (7:30pm CET – 9pm CET), when the subject of digital technology within the scope of comprehensive dentistry will be explored and discussed in detail with event participants.
