Practice owners, managers and dentists are being given a unique opportunity to gain an insight into the wide range of employment and HR issues facing the dental industry at this year’s Dentistry Show.

The Dentistry Show 2015 takes place on April 17-18, at the Birmingham NEC. Specialist dental lawyer Sarah Buxton, who is an Associate at LCF Law, will be hosting a session and speaking as part of the event’s Dental Business Theatre.

LCF Law’s dedicated healthcare division includes specialists in employment and HR issues within the dental industry advising on everything from associate contracts to managing self-employed staff, handbooks and settling employment disputes.

Sarah explains: “Our expert dental team has an unrivalled understanding of the dental industry and the ever changing range of laws, red tape and regulations that apply to the profession.  This session will look at several key issues facing practice owners and managers including the difference between self-employed workers and employees as well as the importance of having relevant contracts in place to suit a persons’ employment status.  It will highlight key details that should be included in all contracts, that are often overlooked and put practices and the goodwill associated with them in jeopardy.

“We will also cover common problems that arise in the workplace such as sickness absence, lateness and flexible working requests as well as the recent changes in Shared Parental Leave, which is a particularly hot topic at the moment.”

In addition to employment law, LCF Law’s extensive range of dental related legal services also cover associate agreements, practice incorporations, compliance with the Care Quality Commission and the sale and acquisition of dental practices.

LCF Law’s specialist team of dental lawyers recently formed a partnership with the Association of Dental Administrators and Managers (ADAM), offering legal advice and guidance to the organisation’s members throughout the UK.  As part of the agreement, ADAM’s members can benefit from advice and consultation regarding any legal matter and receive preferential terms on the company’s services.
