The European Aligner Society has announced a global line-up of aligner orthodontic and digital dentistry experts to address its annual congress in Turin.
The 4th congress of the European Aligner Society (EAS) spans two and half days of plenary lectures led by some of the most experienced, forward-thinking practitioners in aligner orthodontics in the world today. The event will take place between May 11-13, 2023, in Turin, Italy. The event offers clinicians a forum to improve their knowledge and clinical skills and to advance the science and art of aligner orthodontics. Aside from the expert lectures, the congress will also host break-out sessions and workshops, which will allow attendees to explore the subjects which interest them the most.
In addition to the packed congress programme, delegates are encouraged to make time to explore the beautiful city of Torino, sometimes referred to as the capital of Baroque, with its many palaces and churches built in that style during the 18th century. The first capital city of modern Italy, it is nestled between rolling hills with views of the Italian Alps in the distance. Today, Torino is also an important centre of technology and industry and home to the Italian car maker Fiat.
This year's congress will stand out as the most sustainable to be staged by EAS to date with measures in place to reduce waste, including going paper-free, plus plans to offset the carbon generated during the event. Additionally, EAS is in talks with a specialist recycling organisation to explore ways in which plastic aligners might be recycled in the future – something which is currently extremely challenging as aligners are medical devices that must be sterilised before they can be recycled.
