In July, a team consisting of employees from Sirona and Henry Schein joined together with well-known oral surgeon Andrea Ubhi from York to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within a 24-hour period. With this outstanding athletic achievement, the team of eight intended to draw the public’s attention to an extraordinary organization: the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Since 1986, the foundation has actively fulfilled the most deeply held wishes of seriously ill children. In its first four years, the foundation made the wishes of 100 children come true.
Early on the Saturday morning, the Dental Team started its adventure in Fort William with the ascent of Ben Nevis. From there, they travelled to Scafell Pike, which they scaled during the night. On Sunday morning, the group climbed Mt. Snowdon. As of today, their extraordinary efforts have been rewarded with donations worth £2,000 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. “At Sirona, social commitment is a top priority. This is why we are happy to support the idea of making special wishes of seriously ill children come true. With the donations, a large group of volunteer supporters are able to organise the activities and provide the children with unforgettable experiences,” said Terry Patuzzo, General Manager UK at Sirona.
