September 2018 will see the fourth season of the Straumann Charity Bike Ride in aid of this year’s chosen charity, the Mouth Cancer Foundation.

Building on the successes of previous years which raised a total of over £150,000, this year’s ride is bigger than ever with more than 70 riders embarking on a 500-mile route in five days from picturesque Lake Garda to Rome.

The Mouth Cancer Foundation is a charity dedicated to supporting those suffering from or at risk of mouth cancer, throat cancer and other head and neck cancers, as well as providing assistance and information on living with mouth cancer for families, friends and carers.

Mouth cancer survivor Stuart Caplan comments, “I survived mouth cancer even though it took two years to be diagnosed. There is a lot of work to be done to raise awareness of all types of mouth cancer and to help patients and their support network live with it and manage it and its effects in the long term.”

Speaking about this year’s forthcoming challenge, Richard Porter says, “Oral cancer can devastate lives. Riding alongside likeminded dentists to raise funds to help prevent and cure mouth cancer is an incredible opportunity to truly improve patients’ lives.”

The 2018 riders are hoping to beat last year’s total and raise over £100,000. Powered by the generous support of sponsors, CloserStill Media, George Warman Publications, Manan Ltd., Milkshake Dental Marketing, Nest Studios and NSK UK, their aim is to raise vital funds for this important charity and to raise awareness of mouth cancer in the UK to help stop it in its tracks.
