Tell Mayor Khan to make children’s oral health a priority for London

04 March 2019

The British Dental Association is urging London’s dentists to set out their views and experiences on prevention and inequalities, following its successful bid to secure an inquiry into children’s oral health at the London Assembly.

A survey open to all London based dentists is now live. The BDA is canvassing for feedback that will feature as part of its oral evidence to the Assembly on the March 14.

Last year over 7,000 children under the age of nine underwent hospital dental extractions in London, while one million kids failed to attend their free check-up.

The BDA has welcomed the Mayor of Greater Manchester’s support for supervised brushing in nurseries and is calling for greater commitment from both national and local leaders.

The BDA has been working with the London Assembly to ensure oral health featured in their plans to tackle health inequalities.
