Prosperity Law appoints Jonathan Jacobs as head of healthcare

10 February 2020

Leading Manchester-based law firm Prosperity Law have established a new healthcare department headed-up by newly recruited Jonathan Jacobs.

Jonathan has over ten years’ experience in corporate sales and acquisitions specialising in the dental and healthcare sector. He is planning to utilise his industry knowledge to advise and assist dental practices in the Greater Manchester area and beyond with their legal work.

With Jonathan at the helm, the new healthcare department will be offering legal services to dentists, pharmacists, opticians, physiotherapists, nurses and vets, to include drafting partnership agreements, goodwill transfer agreements, expense sharing agreements, director’s service agreements, shareholder agreements, and company formation documentation. It will also have a key focus on buying and selling of commercial premises, aided by the experts in Prosperity’s commercial property team.

Jonathan is also an experienced litigator and handles dispute resolution, acting for dentists and doctors and other healthcare professionals, whether by mediation or litigation and regulatory matters for dentists with the General Dental Council, GPs with the General Medical Council and other healthcare regulatory bodies.

Prosperity have recently been appointed as panel solicitors for Rodericks Dental Limited, one of the UK’s largest corporate dental practice owners and Jonathan is eager to spread the word that he is willing and able to provide legal services to both corporate dental groups and individual dental practitioners.

Jonathan said, “My ambition is to establish Prosperity Law as the go-to lawyers for dental companies and businesses. We have the experience to advise on all kinds of legal matters from buying and selling through to resolving disputes.

I’d welcome a conversation with any potential clients looking for pre-sale advice – I often find that by the time lawyers are involved in buying or selling a business the deal has been agreed, I want to urge dental businesses to involve us at an early stage to get some sound advice and support.”

As the chairman of Greater Manchester Dental Advisors (GDMA) since 2011, Jonathan has a long-established link with the allied professions in and around dentistry and is well aware of the common and not so common issues facing dentists and dental businesses.
