Bupa has announced its acquisition of the Hospital Lane Dental and Implant Clinic in Chatham, Kent.
The purchase follows a period of steady growth for Bupa, which now owns and operates over 470 dental practices across the UK, including 17 acquired this year.
The modern, purpose-built site has eight state of the art surgeries along with Trios scanners and a CT scanner. The clinic offers a range of general, specialist and cosmetic dentistry, with a team of over 40 people – including 11 dentists.
Speaking of the news Ruth Chesmore, acquisition and integration director for Bupa, said, “We’re committed to delivering the highest quality care for patients and, as one of the most modern and well-equipped clinics in the country, this is a really exciting acquisition for us. I’m delighted to welcome the new team into Bupa Dental Care.
“As part of the Bupa network, the practice will now benefit from referrals between other local practices, as well as a range of support functions, such as marketing and HR.”

“As part of Bupa, we’ll be able to grow the clinic as a regional referral centre. Supporting a network of corporate clinics, our specialists can create a hub for high end treatment. With Bupa’s investment and centralised resources in place, we’ll be able us to focus on providing the high standard of care our patients and peers expect.”
Bupa runs over 470 dental practices across the UK and ROI. The move means that colleagues at the Hospital Lane Dental Clinic will be able to benefit from Bupa’s wider referral network and support services from personal clinical support, training, governance, marketing, HR to finance and IT.
Bupa continues to grow its dental presence at pace, with a focus on high performing groups and practices. Within the last year, it announced the acquisition of Avsan Holdings with 16 practices across Scotland and England, while in December it purchased Metrodental, adding two premium practices in the City of London.
